It’s amazing to see how much my child has excelled academically and socially in just the few months of attending this school!
Our daughter is so, so happy to get up and get ready for school and equally happy afterward because she has such a wonderful time. She talks about school and her teachers all the time. We couldn’t be happier we decided to send her here!
As a new mom I had a hard time dealing with the fact that I was going back to work and would have to send my 1 year old to “daycare.” As a teacher, I wanted a place that was more academic even if my child was only 1 years old. I found Smaller Scholars online and went to take a look at what they had to offer. I was blown away by their facility and their friendliness. Not only is their establishment in pristine condition but they are constantly creating learning environments that enable kids to feel safe and successful. It’s amazing how much my now (18 month old) has already grown and learned (body parts, colors, etc). It’s a wonderful environment and I feel so lucky to have my child be a part of a place where the teachers truly care about the children. I think one of the best feelings is knowing that my child is safe and secure when I’m not around. Overall, I would recommend this school without any hesitation. Ms. Darlene and Ms. Barbara run a quality school and will make you feel like part of a community without any judgement (even if you call to check on your child multiple times a day). =) Hey, it’s tough in the beginning to leave your child behind. Overall, the teachers are wonderful, the families are great, and Smaller Scholars is one of the best decisions I have made for my family thus far.
I love this school. Early on we decided our son would get a Montessori education. We really lucked out when this school opened up right around his first birthday. The staff really care about my son and I know he gets great instruction on life skills, academics, and community. I get constant feedback from others about how bright he is or the fact that he is 2 doesn’t coincide with whatever complete sentences are coming out of his mouth. Typical parental bragging aside, I truly believe this is the best choice I can make for him. This environment lets him learn at his own pace. He sometimes surprise me with either counting or colors or vocabulary I know I didn’t show him. It is nice to be bright but it is even better to navigate the social sea of life. Here at this school I have yet to have any behavior issues luckily. I think it’s in part to the strong focus on community and peers. The older children lead and set examples and the younger ones try hard to emulate these behaviors. I could go on and on but do yourself and favor and drop in for yourself the staff is very friendly and always willing to show you around. That’s how they hooked me in. If you want a strong, bright, independent, and socially adjusted child look no further than this school for your little one.
Dear Ms. Monica,
Just a little note to say how much we respect your love and compassion for the kids, and your (infinite) wisdom – you know just when to offer a hug or give a time out. Thank you so much for doing all you have for Ahmed – helping him to be a good person and rise to his true potential. We feel extremely lucky that Ahmed landed in your classroom! (And we can’t wait till Sophia joins the club) Please accept this gift certificate for some “me-time” as a token of our appreciation.
Our son has flourished in the Montessori environment. He has surprised us multiple times by talking about something he has learned that his big brother just learned in an Honors class in High School!
